My son’s favorite toy is an 8 foot long flexible pencil he calls his ‘hooker.’ He uses it to hook things, and at 3 years old, such a term just makes sense to him.

But I just about lost it the other day when he was dressed in his dragon costume and started looking for his hooker. I always thought they preferred maidens.

Maybe it’s a supply and demand thing.

Sometimes teens manage to touch your heart rather than drive you up the wall.

I’d been asking my 17 year old daughter what she wanted for Christmas. She has her first job and enjoys spending her own money, but was kind of reluctant to tell me what she wanted for Christmas. Finally she says “You know what Mom, so long as we’re all together I know it will be a good holiday.”

Of course her younger brother had to add “So long as there are lots of presents!!” He’s a bit of a clown sometimes and likes to give us a hard time.
